AREA 13 / PROVINCIAL PROJECT COVERAGE

CLOSE ENOUGH FOR SOME JOBS. WORTH THE DRIVE FOR OTHERS.

The northern Free State connects naturally to Vaal Triangle work. Bloemfontein and more distant areas require a project substantial enough to justify planned travel—or a closer specialist who is the better fit.

We will quote the job honestly or point it toward someone who should.

WHY THIS AREA

WHERE MINI CIVILS FITS

Agricultural terrain, drainage, earthworks and construction information can justify travelling when the scope is clear and the fieldwork can be planned efficiently.

A province page lets clients understand the available route without pretending Mini Civils has a Bloemfontein branch or publishing a weak page for every town.

THE PROVINCE IN MOTION // FREE STATE

AGRICULTURE, INDUSTRY AND INFRASTRUCTURE ACROSS OPEN GROUND.

The Free State's apparent openness hides very different working landscapes: grain and irrigation fields, industrial Sasolburg, mining towns, regional roads and the institutional economy of Bloemfontein.

Distant work is project-based. The page describes capability, not a fictional branch network.
01

AGRICULTURE / AGRO-PROCESSING

THE BREADBASKET STILL NEEDS BETTER INFORMATION.

Field crops, horticulture and agro-processing depend on rural roads, water, drainage and terrain. Mapping a low spot can solve a production problem before it becomes a construction project.

02

ROADS / PUBLIC WORKS

LONG ROUTES MAKE GOOD INFORMATION MORE VALUABLE.

Road and transport programmes remain central to connecting towns, farms and industrial areas across the province. Long routes make accurate scope, control and records essential to avoid wasteful return visits.

03

INDUSTRY / ENERGY

OPEN LAND DOES NOT MEAN A SIMPLE ECONOMY.

Sasolburg's industrial base, historic goldfields and emerging gas, helium and energy opportunities add specialist infrastructure to a province better known for farms.

GROUND NOTE // FREE STATE

A ROADSIDE CUT EXPOSED A 190-MILLION-YEAR-OLD NURSERY.

In Golden Gate Highlands National Park, a rock cutting only about 25 metres long revealed at least ten dinosaur nests, tightly clustered eggs, embryos and tiny footprints. The site is roughly 190 million years old and provides the oldest known evidence of dinosaurs repeatedly returning to a nesting ground. Sometimes the most extraordinary layer in a landscape appears because an ordinary road happened to cut through it.

THREE CORE ACTIVITIES

ALMOST EVERY SITE QUESTION STARTS HERE.

TYPICAL REQUESTS

WHAT THE WORK MAY INCLUDE

  • Agricultural field mapping
  • Terrain and drainage analysis
  • Construction and platform set-out
  • Earthworks measurement
  • Industrial as-built surveys
  • Position and level verification

PORTFOLIO EVIDENCE // FREE STATE

THE CROP PROBLEM WAS HIDING IN THE LEVELS.

Irrigated fields around Bothaville were mapped to identify low areas where water collected and reduced crop performance. The problem was agricultural; the evidence came from the shape and fall of the ground.

Detailed field stories are being prepared for , the forthcoming Mini Civils project portfolio.

ANOTHER ONE OF MY DAD'S SAYINGS

“DON'T BE GREEDY. LET THE SUN SHINE ON EVERYONE.”

NOT EVERY JOB NEEDS TO BE OURS.

We take on work when the scope, programme and travel make sense. If someone in our network is closer, has more suitable equipment or specialises in exactly what the project needs, we will say so and help point the client in the right direction.

The right person. The right equipment. The right job. Zero BS.

SEND THE LOCATION. SEND THE QUESTION.

WE'LL TELL YOU IF IT MAKES SENSE.

Include the site location, what is being built or checked, the approximate site size, available drawings and the required timeframe.
