RESIDENTIAL
ESTATES CHANGED THE SCALE.
Multi-phase residential construction brings repeated set-out, road, service and verification needs rather than one isolated building position.
AREA 04B / ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT AREA
Honeydew and Ruimsig have changed through estates, schools, retail, offices and denser residential development while smallholdings and older properties remain between them.
New density. Old boundaries. Existing services. One site at a time.
WHY THIS AREA
Development often takes place beside existing homes, boundary walls, roads and services. A topographical survey must distinguish useful design information from urban clutter.
Construction positions and later verification can use the same control where the site programme and access allow it.
LOCAL GROUND // HONEYDEW & RUIMSIG
The north-western edge of Johannesburg now mixes estates, education, retail, offices and remaining agricultural holdings.
The mix of old holdings and newer development makes existing access, services and boundaries part of the survey brief.RESIDENTIAL

EDUCATION / COMMERCIAL
Schools, campuses, retail and offices add parking, access, stormwater and building extensions to the local construction mix.
OLD AND NEW
Irregular parcels and older access routes remain beneath newer suburban layouts, so the current site cannot be assumed from the surrounding development.
THREE CORE ACTIVITIES
TYPICAL REQUESTS
FIELD CONDITIONS // HONEYDEW
Estates, schools, shops and infill construction have to connect with older roads, boundaries, drainage and visible services. Reliable site information matters most where the new work cannot pretend the surrounding suburb is empty.
Detailed field stories are being prepared for , the forthcoming Mini Civils project portfolio.
ANOTHER ONE OF MY DAD'S SAYINGS
“DON'T BE GREEDY. LET THE SUN SHINE ON EVERYONE.”
We take on work when the scope, programme and travel make sense. If someone in our network is closer, has more suitable equipment or specialises in exactly what the project needs, we will say so and help point the client in the right direction.
The right person. The right equipment. The right job. Zero BS.
SEND THE LOCATION. SEND THE QUESTION.
Include the site location, what is being built or checked, the approximate site size, available drawings and the required timeframe.
