Rustenburg, Brits and Hartbeespoort form the closest North West working corridor from the West Rand, with construction, agricultural and infrastructure sites spread between them.
Travel is part of the scope. It should never be hidden in the small print.
WHY THIS AREA
WHERE MINI CIVILS FITS
Work in this corridor is arranged around the project programme. A clearly defined scope makes it possible to plan field time properly and avoid unnecessary return trips.
For longer contracts, repeat visits can be structured around construction stages. For short projects, the travel and deliverable must make sense for both sides.
THE AREA IN MOTION // BOJANALA
PLATINUM, PRODUCE AND PEOPLE LOOKING FOR THE DAM.
Rustenburg, Brits and Hartbeespoort share a corridor, not one economy. Mining and industrial support dominate one end, agriculture and manufacturing another, while tourism and residential development gather around the dam and Magaliesberg.
Three different local economies. One page because projects often cross the same working corridor.
01
MINING / INDUSTRY
RUSTENBURG WORKS BEYOND THE SHAFT.
Platinum drives engineering, fabrication, freight, housing and service industries around Rustenburg. The municipal strategy also recognises the risk of relying on mining alone and the need to diversify.
Madibeng combines mining with irrigated fruit and vegetable production and a substantial industrial area. Different sites ask for different detail, but they all depend on usable terrain and position information.
Hartbeespoort adds estates, resorts, restaurants and visitor facilities to the corridor. Slopes, shorelines, access and existing development make the apparent view from a plan deceptively simple.
THE DAM TURNED A RIVER GAP INTO A WORKING LANDSCAPE.
Hartbeespoort Dam was built through a gap in the Magaliesberg to impound the Crocodile and Jukskei rivers. The wall was substantially complete in 1923 and the scheme was built primarily for irrigation, reshaping agriculture around Brits and the surrounding valley. The dam may now be better known for homes and recreation, but its original logic was practical: hold water, move it and make productive ground possible.
Mini Civils does not claim a branch in every North West town. We assess the site, programme and deliverable, then say plainly whether direct attendance or a closer specialist is the better answer.
: Detailed field stories are being prepared for , the forthcoming Mini Civils project portfolio.
ANOTHER ONE OF MY DAD'S SAYINGS
“DON'T BE GREEDY. LET THE SUN SHINE ON EVERYONE.”
NOT EVERY JOB NEEDS TO BE OURS.
We take on work when the scope, programme and travel make sense. If someone in our network is closer, has more suitable equipment or specialises in exactly what the project needs, we will say so and help point the client in the right direction.
The right person. The right equipment. The right job. Zero BS.
SEND THE LOCATION. SEND THE QUESTION.
WE'LL TELL YOU IF IT MAKES SENSE.
Include the site location, what is being built or checked, the approximate site size, available drawings and the required timeframe.
